Richmond often features in reviews to locate the best places to live in Britain no doubt partly because the surrounding areas are among the greenest in Greater London.Richmond Park is the largest of London’s Royal Parks and was created by Charles I in 1634. It is now home to several hundred deer.

The historic centre, much of the architecture is Georgian with Richmond Green being considered among the most beautiful urban greens in England. Good transport links to central London make it popular for commuters. Richmond has among the highest house prices outside central London in the country.
